It's beginning to look a lot like....

......Christmas!!  Yes, I said it!  Not to scare you or anything or put your panties in a bunch but Christmas is only 3 months away.  I realize that Halloween hasn't even knocked on our door BUT I want to be finished with my holiday shopping by November 8th.  Last year I was finished a little before Thanksgiving and it made my holiday season so much easier.  So I bought my first gift last week.  Yup - I did!  So I highly suggest you get on the band wagon and get it done early.  You will thank me when the holiday starts to roll around and you'll be all stressed out and where will I be??  ahhh - relaxing by the fire, having a cup of egg nog.  And where will you be?  You'll still be wrapping presents on Christmas Eve!!!  So try it this year, you won't be sorry.  

  

Lit'l Flower - Redux

I had posted a pic of a little flower awhile back and it was horrible - horrible I tell you!!  But I've learned a few things over the past couple of weeks so I'm reposting.  Now - don't you just feel so darn lucky to have me in your life!!??

My photography teacher liked this picture so I thought if she liked it, you might like it. Actually, she said it should be in the Met before the weekend so that other people can enjoy my great photography skills!!  Ok - so she didn't actually say that but a girl can dream right?

I had an opportunity to photograph a family that has 4 yr old twins girls and now she's pregnant with another set of twins.  I adore this picture.

A little behind

hello little blog....no i didn't forget you just neglected you, just like everything else in my life these days.  my photography class is taking over my life but in a good way.  a really good way.  but it's consumed every possible thought that i have.  i can't stop thinking about how to be better, what can i do differently, where did i go wrong in that shot....it goes on and on.  brad asked me the other day if i was ever going to talk about anything else.  i said in about 3 months, maybe we could have a decent conversation.    

but this week was a different week here in NYC.  it was the anniversary of the 9/11.  i know in different parts of the country a lot of people forget about it.  i did too until i went to write something in my calendar and it brought me right back to that day.  horrible horrible.  it made me think how lucky i am to have the people around me that love me (you guys love me right?) and how thankful i am to be able to love those people back.  so give your kids an extra hug, give your hubby/wifey a smooch and if you see a fireman or a police officer (hopefully he's not giving you a ticket when you see him/her) tell them thanks for everything they do. and thanks mom and dad for everything you do.  

Just a Bee

So, it's just a bee but it's a bee taken with my new baby that I mentioned in the last post.  Meet Mr. 100mm f2.8 Macro lens.  This bee was just a model...one that I screamed at when he decided to fly away because I'm so sacred of them!!  But I was ok and held onto my camera tightly!

How was your weekend?

ok - this is what we did this weekend!! My gracious in laws took the kids Sunday night (thank you!) so Brad & I were able to sneak away into the city overnight. It was such a beautiful weekend in the big apple. We ate, we drank, we shopped, we drank and we slept until 8am! Can you believe it? Me either. Oh and we (I) did a little shopping at B&H. Yahoo! I'll have to upload a picture of my new baby.
