Happy Holidays

Here is wishing you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and all that good stuff.  Thank you for all your support since this little blog started.  I am truly thankful for all my friends & family who are there for me and even some who would run me off the road if I was trying to get onto the highway.  I still love ya!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

 - you sing the rest!!  We finally got the tree up with the help of my brother, his wife, her sister and husband.  They came in for a visit for a few days and oh what fun we had.  They spent the day Friday going to the Radio City Rockette Christmas Spectacular thingy, which they loved.  Then we met up with them and went to dinner at the famous Tse Yang for amazing chinese food (frogs legs, shark fin soup, some other funky stuff that went around the table).  When we got home, we all watched Iron Man and ate No Bake Cookies (nope - you don't bake them).  Yesterday we put the tree up, hung out, ate some great food and saw the light show in Belle Haven, which was a lot of fun.  I'll get some pictures posted of the lights but if I get arrested, it's all YOUR fault.  We weren't supposed to take pictures or video - we did both.  And we had 8 people in a 7 passenger car (can you say squish? i was driving so i wasn't squished - nice plan for me huh?).  Yeah, we're really going to jail!  Loved having them in but hated seeing them go back to Maine.  The visits are always short.  But we'll see them next week when the kids and I (Brad has to work) travel to Maine for the holidays.  And Santa, if you're reading this, make sure you drop by Christmas Eve to see the kids and bring some snow too.  I'm putting my order in now for a white Christmas.  ~hugs

Karate Kid(s)

The kids moved onto yellow belt the other day and even got a trophy.  Since this was their first trophy, they were pretty tickled.  They (the trophies not the kids) are being proudly displayed on the mantel in the living room.  Congrat's guys!

Soapbox #1

here i go - i'm about to get up on my soapbox.  

i went to pick up my kids and school and was nearly run off the road trying to get onto the highway.  the guy/gal would not let me in - i had to eat the shoulder for a few seconds (felt like hours) with them blaring their horn at me.  are you kidding me?  would it have killed this person to step off their gas pedal and let me in?  no - they would rather see my crash my car than let me in (thank God i didn't have the kids with me, for two reasons, i cussed and it would have freaked them out, not the cussing but getting run off the road).  so here is my soapbox - if everyone would do an act of kindness a day the world would be a better place.  so try it, do an act of kindness, pay it forward, do whatever it takes to make someone else's life just a tad but nicer.  it doesn't take much. buy a cup of coffee for a worker out on the street, paying someone's toll that's behind you....letting some one in traffic, anything but just something nice!!!

and I'm addict.  There I said it.  I feel better just getting that off my chest.  Ya see, I have this slight addiction - it hasn't been long, maybe 3 weeks. Everyday I say to myself that I'm not going to do it but I just can't help it!!  It's taken over my life and I'm afraid I might not be able to stop.  One of my friends did it - it's all her fault!! She introduced me to my drug of choice and I hate her for it but love her at the same time.  So - it's out in the open and I feel that I don't need to hide and sneak around corners and being all paranoid.  Hi - my name is Stacy and I'm addicted to Nonfat Pumpkin Spice Latte's at Starbucks.  What's your addiction?

Florida

We spent our thanksgiving this year in FL, at a hotel, without family.  We thought being in FL would be fun, no pressure of family commitments, just relaxing.  Although it was fun and it was relaxing, when Turkey day rolled around, it wasn't the same.  I wanted to be home and so did the kids - Brad was still happy to be in FL.  Justin complained that the cranberry sauce wasn't round with ridges (ya know from the can) and Lyndsey only wanted Papa's mashed potatoes.  I just wanted to hear the laughter that was going on in all the rooms - the hum of family being family.  I'm grateful we went away but it won't happen next year.  We'll be in Maine bellying up to the bar just like everyone else and being thankful that we have family around to love us and make us laugh.  

Here is a holiday picture that didn't make it on the card.  Next year, I'm hiring a professional.  haha
